The UF Center for Arts in Medicine online graduate program offers a Master’s (M.A.) degree and two Graduate Certificate (GC) tracks. Master of Arts in Arts in Medicine (MA)

The online Master of Arts (MA) in Arts in Medicine is our graduate degree track that offers a comprehensive curriculum covering the advanced practical skills and theory necessary to safely and effectively engage people in arts in health experiences. Students will study with accomplished leaders at the forefront of this growing field, building on their previous arts or healthcare experience to develop professional skills around program development, evaluation, research, and practice in the discipline of arts in health. Students will engage in a hands-on practicum project in their first year and complete their degree with a research/evaluation-based capstone project.

Graduate Certificate in Art in Medicine (GC AiM)

For those who may not be interested in pursuing a full master’s program, but would still like to learn how to effectively weave the arts into healthcare settings in their careers, UF also offers an online Graduate Certificate in Arts in Medicine. The certificate offers students access to the first four courses of the core curriculum of the master’s program and the opportunity to participate in the basic practicum requirement without the research or elective components of the M.A. track. This provides a high degree of flexibility to those looking for a more expedient path towards earning a valuable professional credential and developing their skills.

Graduate Certificate in Arts in Public Health (GC AiPH)

The online Graduate Certificate in Arts in Public Health enables graduate students and professionals to engage the transformative power of the arts in public health contexts. Create a culture of health by working with local artists and culture-bearers to understand community needs and deliver relevant, meaningful, and accessible arts programs. Arts in health professionals can co-create creative programming and arts-based solutions alongside public health partners to create lasting change.



Please note: The Graduate Certificate in Arts in Public Health only accepts students for the Fall (August) term.

Combination Degree: Bachelor's + Online MA Degree

For students who are completing their Bachelor's at UF in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Music, and Psychology we offer a combination degree program that allows you to complete your Bachelor's and start an Online Master's in Arts in Medicine at the same time. Students begin their graduate arts in medicine coursework during their junior or senior year and take an additional year to complete the online MA after finishing their respective Bachelor's program. Save time & tuition by completing up to 12 graduate-level credits that count toward completing your bachelor's AND toward earning an M.A. in Arts in Medicine.

Qualifying majors: Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Music, & Psychology
