All tracks teach arts & health history, theory, practice, and professionalism in the field. Our faculty are industry experts and teach using the latest arts-based/qualitative/quantitative evidence and program models around the world. Together, you'll design, implement, and evaluate intentional arts programs that foster connection and health in your community.

• Anyone who has completed a regionally accredited U.S. Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) can apply!
• Students in our program have held degrees in the arts, humanities, business, education, social work, public health, nursing, medicine, mental health, or related fields. Any degree is acceptable for those with strong creative proficiency.
• Our students represent a broad range of diverse perspectives and backgrounds. They join us during all stages of their careers, from beginning their undergraduate degree at UF to reentering the work force after retirement. Artists, innovators, leaders and lifelong learners interested study with us to bring the restorative power of the arts into their careers and communities.
• NO GRE required!
Arts in health, also referred to as arts in medicine, is a field dedicated to supporting and enhancing health through creative experiences. This field integrates literary, performing, visual arts, and design into healthcare and public health contexts. Research indicates that the integration of the arts into our health systems can improve both individual- and population-level health measures and outcomes

Federal financial aid is available at the University of Florida for Master's students only. Please visit FAFSA.gov to apply for federal financial aid as early as possible. Graduate Certificate students do not qualify for federal financial aid. Students must apply/ update their FAFSA applications every year.
We offer a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Arts in Medicine, as well as two Graduate Certificates (GC) tracks: Arts in Medicine or Arts in Public Health. Applications are accepted at all times for our Fall (August) and Spring (January) starting cohorts. We have two early deadlines and two final deadlines each year. Visit the How to Apply page to learn more and review each step to see the latest deadlines.
Yes, you can complete the program on a schedule that meets your needs. Our core courses are subdivided into 8-week half-terms so you can easily take one class at a time and still finish 6 credit hours every 16-week semester.
Please be advised that MA students using federal financial aid should always consult their financial aid advisor before choosing their course schedule to ensure the satisfaction of any particular credit-hour requirements for financial aid.
